When we evangelize to “a bunch of sinners” we have very little influence. Ten times out of 10 👉🏼 we shut down the listener.
When we evangelize to “future sons and daughters” we honor what our Savior did for us and preach to them prophetically.
We call forth - and speak to - who they were created to be. We aren’t supposed to preach to brokenness. We don’t preach to behavior.
We speak to the spirit, not the flesh.
It’s about showing them the way home, not the gates of hell.
Jesus healed the broken 👉🏼 without degrading the person or highlighting their sin.
God wants people who want Him, not a bunch of people who just don’t want hell.
Jesus isn’t an escape route.
Jesus isn’t a get out of jail free card.
JESUS IS THE WAY HOME.
I’m not suggesting we candy coat the gospel - not even a little - I’m suggesting a Good, Good Father is looking for those who LOVE HIM - not those who simply fear hell.
Would you want your spouse to come home every night simply because they fear divorce court, alimony and child support - or because they desire a life of deep, passionate, intimacy with you?
One of those was worth dying for.
LOVE covers a multitude of sin.
I didn’t make that up.
That’s the Bible.
I saw Jesus rip into a certain group in scripture pretty regularly. They’re the ONLY ONES I recall Jesus ripping into in any of the gospels.
“THEY” were the religious elite 👉🏼 the ones who forgot where they came from.
I will never forget where I came from.
I will never forget about the filthy pit He found me in.
I’m forever grateful He didn’t make my salvation about the pit….it was bigger than the pit…it was about His daughter that was trapped in it.
Let’s love people home.
Let’s actually love the lost like Jesus.
