People ask why I’m doing what I am. My answer: Because we’re supposed to help each other. One day I came across a young lady sleeping on the ground. It was a cold day. I was prompted to check on her. I didn’t know if she was dead or homeless. It was a day I planned to take Florence some coffee in my thermos. I didn’t get to see Flo so the coffee was in my car. I explained to the girl I only had some protein bars. When I asked if she drank coffee, her eyes lit up. ☕️ She was grateful. I helped her charge her phone, made a few calls to see who could help her then took her where she could get cleaned up, get food, toiletries & clothes. I left her in Corporal Luckie’s hands. Should I have minded my own business? Considered it “family business” or just walked on by, leaving her on the cold, hard ground? That’s not in my nature. CHARACTER is how you treat those who can do nothing for you in return. ✌️ and ❤️
