We had a station here that would do full album plays. I don't recall the name of their program, but it was at night, and the announcer would tell you ahead of time to get your recorder ready and would tell you what they were going to play.
Then on the show, they would give you the count; "three, two, one, mark". I remember one night, they did Chicago's Greatest Hits. Of course, while it was still FM stereo, it was still nowhere near audiophile quality because of all the processing the the audio had to pass through. But.. it was fun, and it was free lol. π
I'd like to think I still have all my mix tapes.. I know I still a few of them... Good memories. on some of my tapes, I would Segway my music. I'd wanted to be a Dee Jay since I was five years old, but I had only one turntable and one cassette deck and no mixer.
So to make the Segway, I would disconnect the erase head. Only thing, the tape had to be blank. It was time consuming, but the end result was quite nice. π
