MY Fb friend Sharon Lee texted that she does not believe the Bible is RELIABLE or trustworthy.MY RESPONSE TO SHARON: Hi once again Sharon, You nor I have the ORIGINAL Hebrew texts for the Jewish Bible. We do have Dead Sea Scrolls that provide nearly the entire Bible as of approx 100-150 BC. Before these discoveries, the oldest translation of the Hebrew OT (WE HAD) was the Masoretic text, approximately 6-700 AD. I studied from this text when I took Hebrew. The Greek translations (LXX) of the early Hebrew texts prior to the Dead Sea Scrolls started appearing in Alexandria, approximately 250-350 BC for dispersed Jewish followers in Egypt. An examination of the Masoretic translation with the earlier Dead Sea scrolls show a very high degree of reliability. This is somewhat less so with the various Greek translations of the AramaicHebrew called the Septuagent (LXX). The case for the reliability of the NEW TESTAMENT is extremely strong. We have early manuscript fragments and references numbering in the several thousands. As a matter of fact, we have more early manuscript evidence for the New Testament than the works of Shakespeare, the early Roman historians, HOMER AND THE ILLYAD, and a bunch of other ancient writers combined…. FOR-SOOTH! ET-U, BRUTAI!!!🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆”Yonder ducks QUUUAAAAACK-ETH profusely, fair maiden!” (Smile-A sense of humor is GOD’S gift as well).
