Today at the gas station, I was trying to pay, and my stupid chip never flippin works on my card so I was struggling with it.It finally scanned and was declined (even though I had money)! I asked the cashier to put it on hold so I could call my card and figure out the issue. The guy who just paid in the line next to me kindly asked if I needed help paying, discreetly implying that I couldn't afford to pay.I insisted that my card was just being dumb and that I had the money, but he insisted on paying my $35 anyways, which I refused two more times.I have a theory that if you protest a good deed offered three times, and the person insists on doing it still, then they truly wish to do it, and I concede to their offering. He paid and told me, "Merry Christmas" and I swear I almost cried because I feel things so deeply.I can't believe he paid all that for a stranger who declined the kindness multiple times and insisted that I was able to pay. He was such a nice man and he totally made my day.I told him, "God bless you and thank you," and we parted ways. I hope he has a marvelous day. πβπΌπ₯°
