Just got my new GMRS radio for the Jeep!!! Also got my call sign issued from the FCC the other day.If you're on HAM or GMRS radios, my call sign is WROM572 and I'll be up and running in a few days. I need to get an antenna wire and do the tuning for the antenna. Then I need to install it in my Jeep.If you're relying solely on 5G wireless phone service, don't get caught slipping. Get an FRN number (the first thng you do) and apply with the FCC to get a GMRS license (the 2nd thing you do) you can operate your own radio. $70 for a 10-yr license. No test required to apply for one. To me 24hrs from the time I paid for the license til they issues my call sign.Perfect for situations in the wilderness or desert, or even to help someone when your phone dies. Get instant weather alerts in areas where you have no reception for a cell phone, which helps in storms.If you aren't on a HAM radio or GMRS radio, look into it. The do have hand-held GMRS radios instead of the ones made for a vehicle, as well.#GMRS
