Never confuse faith (believing) in the gospel has any relationship with religion or religious people. Even saul (Paul) who was a servant for a time in the Jews religion, but when he returned to Jerusalem he was a man of faith not religion. Those same religious people in authority over Israel was the same who wanted Paul (Saul) destroyed from the face of the earth.
