So if i take an oath to defend and uphold a written set of ideals and then actively try to enact legislation that directly defies or undermines those ideals, havent I violated that oath? Should’nt one have to change the foundational document “before” trying to pass legislation that is contradictory? I’m just a simple country boy, but an oath is an oath. If you cant keep it, you should’nt be allowed to hold any office.
