I recently joined a group called Rebels on Roundabouts. (For those who don’t know, many road junctions in the UK are controlled by roundabouts rather than traffic lights.) Last Wednesday a group of us stood on this busy roundabout just south of Birmingham during the rush hour displaying our signs to the passing traffic. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with maybe 9 out of 10 motorists honking their horns approvingly or giving us the thumbs up. Only a minority cursed at us or flipped us the bird! This seems like a very effective way to protest and I hope to join the group again at another roundabout on Wednesday.
