I'm keeping a very subdued 4th of July this year. Remember, we are an occupied nation. We have been taken over after a stolen election. Not gonna celebrate that. The President of the United States is Donald J. Trump. The Supreme Court is illegitimate. The US Congress is illegitimate. The federal Judiciary is illegitimate. Several state Governors are treasonous criminals. Many state judges are treasonous criminals. Many office holders and non-office holders are treasonous criminals. There are American citizens being held and persecuted as political prisoners for merely entering a building that THEY OWN! Seeking redress of grievances, a process guaranteed in our Constitution. So no, the US flag does not fly at my home this year. There are no patriotic decorations. There are no fireworks. We will have a simple cookout, just family. We will remember the Founders and those who sacrificed it all to give us the wonderful nation we failed to defend. They are ashamed of us, and they should be. We will remember the battle at Gettysburg these three days leading up to the 4th. I will remember the subject of my first book, Major A. G. Happer from Washington County, PA who was there, and as I write these words at this very time was holding the line with his regiment the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on Cemetery Hill, withstanding Confederate artillery as Longstreet's assault is beginning to advance into Sherfy's Peach Orchard about this time on July 2nd 1863. Those men. They thought enough of their country to advance into the meat grinder, and those defending stood their ground as long as they could, until further bloodshed was pointless.
