Always Meant to be a Family
None of us able to do everything ourselves. Even in a big family, unless everyone has different talents and lives close to the same property, it would still be hard.
We were meant to help and care for one another, to be there for one another, through good and bad times. And together we ease the burden of each other.
But for most, that kind of family is from bygone days.
Most people do not live close to one another. Many move away and start families elsewhere. Many go off to college and never return home permanently.
Most families no longer share or knows the burdens the others bear. Each carries loads often too hard for them, because they were meant to be shared. It seems a broken world.
But in the midst of this are families who havr members who stay near to one another and who help one another. Those families are blessed indeed.
And they are the picture of what God considers family.
When God speaks of His people, we are always family. That is because of all people, family should be there for one another.
So, as Christians we are of the family of God, which is a royal family. God is our Father, the High King. Jesus is our eldest brother, the ruling King over us and the dominion the Father gave to Him.
Fellow Christians are brothers and sisters. It is meant to be the kind of connection that God made through the Eartyhly family, but even deeper because we share the same values and we will live in eternity with one another in Paradise.
We were never meant to leave God's family and make our own family apart from Him. Sin caused that separation. Jesus repaired the rift and is the way back to God.
We really don't understand how important family is to God. His Son Jesus had to make the way for us, and He did it willingly.
After He suffered, died and rose again Jesus went away to prepare a place for us in His home, so we could be with Him forever.
It was always meant to be an extended family that encompassed all of us.
But some refuse to be a part of God's family, because they don't want to do it God's way. It is what got humanity in this mess in the first place.
Still, those of us who do come to Jesus in repentance and fully surrender to His Lordship and Kingship over us, also become of His family, children of God!
I just can't get why anyone delays coming to Jesus. What we surrender to Him is nothing to what we get from Him!
Stay strong! The family of God is a family worth belonging to!
