Butternut squash seeds that sprouted in the compost bin! Boy did an experiment in soil types prove the superiority of compost over other methods. No squash bug problems that were happening in a raised bed about 30 feet away.

These are two Kune Kune pigs that are a heritage breed from New Zealand that do not root, but rather graze on grass. Are known to be delicious pork. We just had a pigging and will have some to sell in a couple of weeks. Meet Rusty and Girtie!
